This is the Thoreau medal from the Hall of Fame for Great Americans.  It is based on the original bust of Thoreau by Malvina Hoffman that stands in the Colonnade of the Hall of Fame at NYU in New York City.  It comes in the original package along with the brochure that describes the medal.
