Description
This package includes either a carriage or hayrack ride for two hours at the location of your choosing (with final approval by carriage owner.). In regard to location, they will bring the team and carriage to the designation selected by the purchaser up to a 250 mile radius of the metropolitan area. They will provide 2 hours of time for guests to ride, get acquainted with the team of Percheron draft horses etc.
If you choose the carriage it is a “Vis-a-Vis,” model which seats the passengers facing each other so they can carry on a conversation as they ride. This model was originally invented by Thomas Jefferson and is a replica of his design. He frequently conducted business transactions with his passengers so the face to face seating was helpful. The carriage ride is popular for special events such as an anniversary, engagement, child’s birthday party, or of course a wedding. For weddings we are usually asked to transport the bride and groom from the church or wedding site to the reception site. There are some limitations with this as the team doesn’t move fast enough to carry a bride and groom for miles and miles. Five miles between church and reception is about the limit, otherwise it takes too long. You can also choose a wagon ride which is usually selected for campfire picnics or parties by a lake or a hay ride type atmosphere. This has been requested by girl scout groups, corporate events, family reunions, etc. Either one is a fun activity especially for kids and can be a valuable history lesson in experiencing what travel by horse and carriage is really like.
This is a Live Event Item.
