Exploring American Genius
2007-2008 Concert Season Subscription Series*
In the Fall of 2007, the Garden State Philharmonic will launch Exploring American Genius, the first season of a multi-season program featuring an interdisciplinary exploration of American contributions to the arts. By examining the diverse repertoire of symphonic music by American composers past and present, and the simultaneous trends in painting, literature, dance, and film, we will trace the development of the American voice in arts expression as it evolved from its European roots. Reflecting the Garden State Philharmonic's commitment to joining tradition with innovation, American works will appear side-by-side with standard symphonic fare to show the influences, similarities, and developments that occurred and are occurring both in the U.S. and abroad.
Mark your calendar and join in our celebration of American Genius. Your seat is waiting for you!
