The Memorial Chapel at Lakewood Cemetery is both a stunning work of art and a Minneapolis historical landmark. Designed by Minneapolis architect Harry Wild Jones, the chapel is modeled after the Hagia Sophia in Istanbul with the mosaic interior inspired by San Marco Cathedral in Venice. The Chapel remains virtually unchanged in appearance from the day it was completed in 1910.
