Gift certificate for a gourmet cake to be created by school parent and trained chef Joe DePatty.  Bete Noir cake is a very rich and dense flourless chocolate cake flavored with coffee and topped with a chocolate ganache.  Serve 12-16. 

Chef Joe DePatty is a graduate of the Culinary Institute of America.  Before coming to CT he worked in Hollywood with chefs like Wolfgang Puck at Spago and Michel Richard at Citrus.  Here in CT he has worked in some of the top French restaurants, has cooked for and with Julia Child and was pastry chef for Max Downtown.
