Description

"The Stallion and His Mare" was created by local New Jersey artist Maryann Cannon. This one-of-a-kind design was styled after the Cape May Lighthouse and part of the 2003 Beacons By The Sea community art event. The sculpture, originally purchased by Commerce Bank, is being made available for this auction. The artist described her creation: "He looked into her eyes, he found his soul mate and entwined their tales. This was just a labor of love and fun to paint." Maryann Cannon has an art gallery/studio, La Botegga of Art in the Arts District of Millville, NJ. She teaches art at sites around Atlantic and Cape May counties. She is a member of several professional organizations, including the Society of NJ Artists. Her work has been exhibited across New Jersey and in Philadelphia. Cannon graduated from The Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts in Philadelphia and The Barn Studio of Art in Millville.

The sculpture is a prefabricated mold and decorated with acrylic paint, modeling paste and clear sealant. Note that this is a large sculpture - it is 57 in. high x 25.5 in wide x 49.5 in long and could be shipped via shipping company.
