Description

“Butterflies are Free” began as a needlepoint and blossomed into a 41” x 51” quilt.  The artist kept working around the iris needlepoint using both appliqué and patchwork techniques.  To her surprise she found blue butterfly fabric in the store and incorporated them flying out of the needlepoint into the quilt.

The artist is Sharon Kretmar, the Grants Compliance Manager for Continuing Education at ACCC.  This quilt is an original piece created entirely by hand, both the piecing and the quilting.  The quilt measures approximately 41” x 51”.  It is suitable for cuddling by a fire, draped over a sofa or as a wall hanging.

Special Instructions

The quilt can be washed by hand in cold water and ironed if necessary since it is made of 100% cotton materials.  For hanging purposes, you can run a decorative drapery rod or dowel stick through the sleeve on the back.
