Education B.A. in English Literature from Boston University, and art degrees from Pennslyvania State University (B.A.) and Indiana University (M.F.A.). He also attended the New York Studio School.

Exhibitions In 2006: UNH Art Gallery, Durham; The Coolidge Center, Portsmouth; the Ogunquit Museum of American Art; New Hampshire Painting in the 21st Century at the Kimball-Jenkins Estate, Concord, NH and at Plymouth State University.

Hood has a national exhibition record that includes group exhibitions at many venues, including the First Street and Bowery Galleries and The National Academy of Design in NYC; Greenhut Galleries, Portland; and Trudy Labell Fine Art, Naples, FL.

Experience Has taught drawing and painting at the University of New Hampshire since 1982. He also taught English for a year in Kobe, Japan (1997), and painting and drawing in Ascoli-Piceno, Italy (2002).

Awards Ford Foundation Grant, finalist for The Rome Prize in Painting (1987), nominated for a Louis Comfort-Tiffany Award (1999).
