Hara discovered her creative bent early in life.  She married in 1966 and moved to Maine permanently in 1969.  She continues to maintain a summer home in Vinalhaven, ME.  The creative process has always been a major force in Hara’s life as has her need to be on or near the ocean.  Although Hara’s earliest training was as a printmaker and oil painter, she has renewed passions for pastel, watercolor and clay, both as a sculptor and potter.  She continues to be intrigued by the human form and works often from live models.  Hara experiences great beauty, peace and joy in her natural surrounds and journeys to her heart’s source with depth of vision and bold powerful expression.  She portrays her visual and spiritual experience of color, line, form and light with vitality and passion.  Hara is currently employed as Gallery Manager for the Irvine and Performance Hall Galleries at River Tree Center for the Arts as well as Assistant Registrar.
