Special Instructions
From Beach prints to golf prints Templeton's art work reflects the lifestyles and hobbies on the Gulf Coast. The artist Richard E. Templeton was a native of New England, but he lived most of his life on the Gulf Coast residing in Mobile, Alabama. After a successful career in Architecture, he became recognized as a serious watercolorist. His work can be found in private collections throughout the country and in Europe.
His warm feelings for the coastal life validated even his most casual sketches. Richard's flamboyant, impressionistic style often resulted in the refreshingly unpredictable painting. Much of his work depicts the leisure times of the sea coast people. He was equally at home painting the flowers so prominent in the South. He was also known for his wonderful paintings of sailboats.
Many people would come by to see Mr. Templeton painting in his little studio on Old Shell Road in Mobile. After his death in 1993, his wife and her sister established a Gallery to assure that Richard's work would remain for all who want to enjoy a special artistic experience. Visitors frequently come to the gallery and tell of their special memories of Richard in years past
