Description

A comprehensive vision evaluation is MUCH MORE than a standard, complete eye exam! A comprehensive vision evaluation tests those aspects of a child's vision that are directly related to learning readiness in addition to testing visual acuity and the health of the eyes. A standard eye exam only tests a child's visual acuity, or whether they can see the board from their seat in the classroom. Even a child who tests at 20/20 can still have hidden visual deficiencies which make reading and learning difficult. 80% of learning takes place through the visual system. For a child with undetected, untreated visual issues, school can be a very frustrating experience! A comprehensive vision evaluation, performed by a developmental optometrist, can detect hidden visual problems often overlooked in a traditional complete eye exam.
