Description
"Poppy Cascade" is a large format painting that captures the drama and poetry of California’s Central Coast Wine Region. Before the grapes emerge and the work begins, vineyards announce spring with a glorious display of saturated native wildflowers, including the colorful California Poppy.
Jeff Hess was born in 1962 and grew up in St. Louis, MO. He left the Midwest for Southern California and the call of the Pacific Ocean in the early 1980's and, from there, launched a business and academic career that took him through Denver, Boston, Phoenix and eventually back to California and the atmosphere and seascapes that inspire his love of plein air painting.
