Description
Gracious living right in Boston! Enjoy a one night stay (including breakfast!) at the luxurious Taylor House in Jamaica Plain.
Taylor House, a gracious sixteen room Victorian home, was built around 1853 for George W. Taylor, an international merchant head-quartered in Boston. It is situated within the Monument Square Historic District, and lies in an area known as "Pondside", which contains some of Jamaica Plain’s finest suburban architecture.
Your hosts, Dave Elliott and Daryl Bichel, will take delight in offering suggestions for enjoying all that Boston has to offer - whether it be the arts, historic attractions, fine dining, sports, outdoor activities, or other interests.
Taylor House is only a block from excellent restaurants, and lies adjacent to beautiful Jamaica Pond, a natural kettle hole formed by a pre-historic glacier. The pond is enjoyed daily by many residents and tourists using its boathouse and 1.5 mile paved trail for walking and running. For more spectacular beauty, the incredible Arnold Arboretum is only 6 blocks away.
In addition to being located in a neighborhood of distinction and great beauty, the Taylor House site offers easy access to attractions through bus and subway transit. Taylor House is located two miles from the Longwood Medical Area, home to many hospitals, research facilities, and educational institutions. The Museum of Fine Arts, the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum , Symphony Hall, and Fenway Park are also in this area. Just beyond that, the Back Bay, Charles River, and Boston Harbor offer beauty, history, unbelievable shopping, and fascinating restaurants.
"Our time at the Taylor House was beyond belief--from the comfortable, beautifully appointed rooms to the luscious breakfasts--my husband and I were delighted with our stay!"
