The Publick House was established on the Sturbridge Common in 1771 by Colonel Ebenezer Crafts, who led the local militia against the British at the Battle of Lexington and Concord when the Revolutionary War began. A continuing program of preservation and renovation now means that the Publick House preserves its original 18th century charm while offering 21st century conveniences.
Then travel through time at Old Sturbridge Village! At Old Sturbridge Village you will come face-to-face with the past and the events that shaped life from the late 1700s to early 1800s.
