Blanton Collier coached UK from 1954 to 1959. UK went 41-36-3 — and 5-2-1 against arch-rival Tennessee. Notable wins included winning at #15 Georgia Tech in 1954 and defeating #8 Ole Miss and #17 Tennessee in 1955, #12 Tennessee in 1957 and #20 Tennessee in 1959. In 1958 Blkanton faced a season without consensus All-American Lou Michaels and 14 other valuable lettermen, an abundance of youth and the toughest SEC schedule in the conference.
