Boston diners greeted the news of Chef Felino Samson's newest venture with great enthusiasm. POPS opened its doors in February with one important mission: to make the delights of fine dining accessible to a casual, neighborhood clientele. Nestled in the elegant South End, POPS enchants diners with a cozy, intimate atmosphere, welcoming and pampering service, and surprising and delightful twists on comfort food classics.

"Great food doesn't have to be exclusive or expensive," said Felino Samson, whose nationally-recognized accomplishments could most recently be tasted at Bomboa, here in Boston. "By taking classic favorites such as meatloaf, or chicken and dumplings, and putting a fine dining twist on them, we are helping to elevate the everyday experience of neighborhood diners."

POPS features Regional New American cuisine with a new take on comfort food classics. "The key principle is to use outstanding quality foods which feed the body as well as the soul," said Chef Samson. "We only use the freshest, organic foods, meats which aren't contaminated with anti-biotics, and fish from renewable sources. We also feature unusual and exciting wines and champagnes from around the world."

Fine dining goes beyond great food, to consider each aspect of the total dining experience. POPS connects diners to a more traditional time, when hospitality was an art form. Warm paneling, soft window treatments, and an intimate dining room with just 48 seats create a homey, welcoming atmosphere.  The view from the sun porch onto a lovely garden encourages diners to relax and forget the cares of their busy lives. Expert staff adds the final touches to ensure that diners feel welcome and cared for.
