During a recent trip to Ghana, this delightful hand woven basket with diamond pattern was a real find!  When she found that her work would be part of an auction in for an American non-profit, the basket weaver added leather strips over the typical straw handle to enhance durability.  The basket,  a foot wide and 20 inches in length, stands thirteen inches high with another seven inches added by the handles.  The diamond shaped pattern is woven in the darkest navy blue natural dyed and complementing natural colored straws.  This lovely item enhances any decor or could serve as an imminently practical summer tote for a favorite fashion maven.
