The book's title refers not to Angell Street, but Thomas Street on the East Side of Providence, RI, the location of the Providence Art Club. The early residents of the buildings that comprise the Art Club today come alive - and so does the history of the Club itself. The front and back inside cover and fly-leaf include beautiful drawings of Thomas Street and there's even a (glowing) 1948 Providence Journal review of the book tucked inside!
