Artist Gail Eckberg says that as she watched the sailboats come quickly into view, she sensed their crews racing against the rapidly building storm clouds as well as against each other. This watercolor certainly captures the gathering storm as well as the sense of urgency plaguing each crew as it tries to outrun the approaching storm -- and the other boats.

A longtime coastal resident, Gail draws inspiration from the ocean, as she is drawn to all of its sights and sounds.
