With a background in oils and pastels, nine years ago Serena turned her attention to sculpture and is now accomplished in bronze casting and alabaster. Charlie Horse is an interesting mix of media: He's made of plaster over a steel-rod skeleton, coated in bronze powder, sealed in oil paint, and waxed! This finely detailed work shows the horse's eyes, mane, tail and hooves; the detail is exquisite.
