Item#67 - H. P. Burdick - Landscape

Item Number: 67
Time Left: CLOSED
Description
Notice the subtle shadings in this gouache. The paints used are similar to watercolors, but more opaque, and Burdick used those characteristics very effectively. Born in 1844, he lived here in New England for 98 years, prolifically producing fine art. His works hang in the statehouse on Beacon Hill, the Massachusetts Supreme Court building and Memorial Hall in Cambridge, as well as at City Hall in New London and numerous corporate and private collections.
