Japanese-born, Otsuka emigrated to Hawaii in 1979 and his work quickly evolved from his previous historical subjects into an elegant, neo-deco style. The Heneburys bought this print on a trip to Hawaii about 15 years ago and had it custom-framed. The donor value is based on early-1990s prices; check the internet and you'll see many Otsuka prints offered at higher prices today.
