"Reflection - Ted Williams at 60" is the work of legendary North Scituate artist Armand LaMontagne. The artist was quite a ballplayer as a young man and his idol was Ted Williams. In Armand's words, "He practiced, practiced, practiced and became the greatest in his sport. You can't teach that." But maybe Williams taught LaMontagne by example because he's one of the best, with his sculptures and paintings of baseball heroes at the Hall of Fame and treasured by collectors. He and Ted Williams became friends and mutual admirers. This work depicts an older Ted Williams at a spring training game, perhaps reflecting on his accomplishments. This giclee on canvas is hand-stretched, tacked, and signed on the back by the artist.
