Description

A weekend for you and yours in Crestone, Colorado

Spend three nights in a well-appointed townhouse that sleeps six in Crestone, Colorado. As highlighted in a recent New York Times article (Jan 11, 2008), the area has long been considered a sacred place: home to several Buddhist centers, a Hindu Ashram, a Carmelite monastery, Shumei International Institute, several American Indian sanctuaries and a number of other religious centers. A 41-foot-high golden Tibetan stupa sits on a hillside overlooking the San Luis Valley.

Nestled at the base of the Sangre de Cristo Mountains with their towering 14-000-foot peaks, Crestone offers pine-scented hiking paths in addition to being an international spiritual crossroads. The modern, comfortable townhouse includes three bedrooms (1 with queen-size bed, 2 with two twin beds each), three bathrooms, fully-equipped kitchen, dining area, and comfortable living room.

The Desert Sage Restaurant is located within the compound of 18 townhouses. Next door are facilities belonging to Colorado College. A fully-equipped local market in the tiny town (half-mile away) offers an impressive selection of healthful foods.

If driving (recommended), Crestone is approximately 200 miles south of Denver, or 250 miles north of Albuquerque. Great Lakes Airlines offers daily flights between Denver and Alamosa Municipal Airport, located about 50 miles south of Crestone.

The townhouse is being offered for three nights: July 18-19-20 inclusive OR October 3-4-5 inclusive. Additional information will be provided to the winning bidder.

Minimum bid: $1,000.
