The grapes for the 2005 Cabernet Sauvignon were harvested between Oct. 18 and Oct. 22 of 2005 at an average sugar level of 25.2° brix. 50% of the Cabernet comes from a hillside vineyard with rocky soil which provides the wine with good color and structure. The rest of the grapes come from a valley floor vineyard that brings varietal character and fruitiness to the wine. 

For three generations the Lanza family has worked the vineyards of Wooden Valley Winery. Today, it is still a family operation, with Mario's son Richard and his four sons working together to produce award-winning estate bottled wines.
