Meet for lunch, one-on-one, with the Editor of the Vallejo Times Herald, Ted Vollmer. Find out what it's like to run a community newspaper, the challenges, the politics and the story behind community journalism. Discuss the vital issues affecting the city of Vallejo and all of Solano County.
You lunch will be at the Georgia Street Grill in Vallejo at a mutually convenient time to be arranged. Georgia Street Grill Lunch is donated by Daniel Rojas, Solano Community College Alumnus.
Ted knows he is a workaholic, so you'll be doing him a favor to get him out of the office for lunch. When asked for a bit of information about himself he provided the following:
I’ve been editor of the Times-Herald since April, 1997. I began my journalism career at City News Service of Los Angeles covering local politics, courts and general assignment. I was a political and education reporter for the Los Angeles Times for 11 years before our family (Sandy, son Josh and daughter Cerina) moved from Los Angeles to the Midwest, where I worked as Opinion Page and News editor at the La Crosse, (Wis.) Tribune for eight years before coming to Vallejo. My wife Sandy is the current Realtor of the Year and past president of the Solano Association of Realtors.

- The auction winner needs to call at least a week in advance to make the appointment.
