This adorable rocking horse is solid red oak and is assembled with dowels and glue.  The rocker has 4 screws on the front and back slats for more durability and the horse is attached to the rocker by 4 screws to facilitate rocker removal for easier storage after the little one gets older.  The rockers are made to prevent tipping and has been tested to the limit by the maker's 2 year old grandson!  It is finished with 2 coats of stain (horse-provincial stain; rocker, seat and collar-special walnut) and 3 coats of hand rubbed urethane.  The tail and mane are made from macrame cord, hand pulled and brushed.
