Christine Pitman studied at Maryland Institute of Art, Denison University, University of Tennessee, Vanderbilt University, and with Betty Lou Schlemm, Jack Callahan and other local artists. She works in oil, watercolor and acrylics.

Memberships include Rockport Art Association, North Shore Arts Association and Cape Ann Watercolor Painters. She founded Licking Valley Art Association in Ohio. She is represented in private and corporate collections. Among her awards are: Best of Show, Verona Art Association, New Jersey; Parthenon Show, Nashville, TN; Rockport Board of Trade; Magnolia Library Show; and Winsor Newton Award from Academic Artists, Springfield, MA. She is included in Best of Watercolor III. A member of the Board of Governors of the RAA for 25 years, she also served on the Board of the North Shore Arts Association.
