The convent began in 1148 and moved to a new location across the river in 1900. Soon after the abbey was built in 1904 the monks and nuns that resided there began making and selling wine as one of the main prodcuts to sell. The wines have a rich mature quality with notes of gooseberry and mineral. Halbtrocken is half-dry. KH                          visit www.abtei-st-hildegard.de
