LaFontaine played for the NY Islanders from 1984 to 1991. He was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2003. LaFontaine scored 287 goals as an Islander, tied for fifth in club history. In an average season he was pushing 50 goals and 90 points. In 1989-90 he scored a career high 54 goals!
