Johnny Podres, a lefty and former starting pitcher who played with the Brooklyn and Los Angeles Dodgers (53-55', 57-67'); Detroit Tigers (66-67'), and San Diego Padres (69') helped his Dodgers teams win the World Series in 55’, 59’ and 63’. Podres was given the first ever World Series MVP Award.
