The reclusive pioneer of soul-rock-funk fusion, Sly Stone made his first major public appearance in over a decade with Sly & the Family Stone during a special Tribute to the band at the 2006 Grammy awards. Nile Rodgers, legendary songwriter, producer and front man of the iconic band CHIC, musically directed the once in a lifetime Tribute. This red Fender Telecaster was backstage and signed by many of the artists performing in the Tribute that night, including Steven Tyler & Joe Perry from Aerosmith; Larry Graham, Sly & the Family Stone's superstar bassist; Robert Randolph from Robert Randolph & the Family and Nile Rodgers.
