The selection includes 20 noteworthy paperback books appropriate for preschool through upper elementary school.

A good cross-section of genres is included - fiction, nonfiction, and poetry. There are some multicultural selections, and two of the books coordinate with grade level author studies (Mem Fox - grade 1 and Gail Gibbons - grade 2).
