Ask any child you know what his or her favorite subject in school is and you are likely to hear gym and/or recess. Right now at Hunnewell there are long lines and the basketball hoop is inaccessible. We can address these issues if we expand out the edge of the blacktop along the playground side to create more efficient blacktop playing areas. The expansion will allow children to use the existing hoop, be less crowded around the snail hopscotch, and create space for another basketball hoop and a second large 4-square court. Let's make recess a more successful and physical part of our students' day.

The Hunnewell gym needs a new coat of paint.  The gym can be painted white, as it is now, to brighten and open the space as much as possible, making it both functional and cheerful to match the rest of the building.

This year’s “Raise Your Paddle for Hunnewell” is a wonderful chance for our community to raise funds together for a common project. The “Raise Your Paddle for Hunnewell” auction item, following tradition, is multi-tiered.....the more we raise, the more we can do:

Opening Tip-Off: $6,762 for Blacktop Expansion
Three pointer sunk: $1,200 for a new Basketball Hoop
Critical free throw made: $1,800 for new Mats for the Stage Front
Hunnewell wins!: $4,000 to Paint the Gym Walls and Ceiling

Total/Goal: $13,762

Contributions for this project will be accepted by increments beginning at $100.
