Description

Kilim, a highly regarded folk-art, is a flat weave rug originally produced in a village or a tribe. The designs tend to be geometric and often incorporate symbolic tribal motifs. This Balikesir kilim, from the Western Anatolia region in Turkey near Izmir, is handmade, using pure wool and natural dyes. The outstanding colors of slate blue and red create a lively, dynamic interaction.  Measures 3'10" x 5'11".
