Description
Noted NW carver Jay Haavik was commissioned in 1997 to make a dining room table. He chose a simple Scandinavian style and used Eastern PA air-dried cherry. In the table’s center is inlaid a relief-carved panel of Alaskan Yellow cedar. Around the perimeter he has added snakes. This motif – sometimes formed by hands rather than snake heads – also appears on Viking mortuary stones found near Gotland, Sweden from 400 – 800 A.D. It also resulted in this great print. Size is 30 x 40. Stonehenge paper. Unframed.
