Lena Horne, 1982 - If there was ever a performer that could do it all, Lena Horne would be a top candidate.  Her first success came as a nightclub singer, a profession she pursued internationally with great success for more than 60 years.  Horne maintained a recording career that stretched from 1936 to 2000, resulting in three Grammy’s, including one for Lifetime Achievement in 1989.  She also appeared in 16 feature films, performed on Broadway, entertained troops at military bases around the world, and sang and acted on radio and television.
