Michael's Biography:
Michael was conceived at the Woodstock festival in Bethel, New York and born in 1970 in Honesdale, PA - the birthplace of the American Railroad.

His "Cosmic American" paintings are a hybrid of Pop/Folk art. The work is made from naturally fallen California redwood or Spanish cedar. The redwood is purchased from a mom & pop lumberyard in the Sierras that bids on naturally fallen trees. Images are sandblasted into the wood at his family's sign shop in Pennsylvania  and painted at Michael's studio near Woodstock, NY. Textures vary from smooth, raised surfaces to a rippled, sandblasted effect. The Woodstock Times says, "...some of the images are so fine and thin they look cut with a laser."

Michael has shown his artwork in 45 group exhibits in North America since 1999. A February 2001 exhibit at Zeke's Gallery in Montreal was his first solo show, which was followed by a successful return engagement in summer 2003. In November 2002, Michael's sculpture, "Heavenly Beatles," was auctioned by Sotheby's.com. He was featured on the Wynwood Arts District Tour at Basel Miami in 2004.
