Once again, WXXI proudly welcomes Jim Christy on board as the featured artist for its annual Auction! A Rochester native, Jim Christy has an abiding interest in both historic and present day scenes around his hometown. In this painting, titled "High Falls Vista," we view a breathtaking panorama of the Rochester skyline, as we would see it from the east side of the riverbank near the Pont de Rennes pedestrian bridge in historic High Falls. Painting with watercolors and gouache paints, Jim has captured all of the familiar buildings, the energy of the Genesee River as it cascades over the High Falls, and the first colorful leaves of autumn. The magnificant original painting, which measures 24 1/2 x 36 1/2 inches, is signed and dated, and is professionally matted and framed under glass.
