Description

"Borealis XIII" is a 40" x 37" wax and resin painting. Focusing on painting as a space of exploration, Raphaëlle Goethals has used wax and resin as her signature media for the past ten years.  Ms Goethals exhibits in galleries throughout the United States and Europe.  Her work can be seen at the Gerald Peters Gallery in Santa Fe, Lemmons Contemporary in New York,  and Gail Severn in Sun Valley. Her paintings are  in numerous private and public collection, including the Santa Fe Museum Of Fine Arts, The Daum Museum of Contemporary Art, Hewlett Packard, Microsoft, and the Ritz Carlton.

Special Instructions

Born in Belgium and raised in the south of France, Goethals moved to the United States in 1980 to study at Otis Art Institute in Los Angeles. Drawn to the quality of light and the vastness of the landscape, she moved to New Mexico in 1993.

 

Ms Goethals is the mother of Arielle Mattes who is in fifth grade at Rio Grande School.
