The New York Yankees, in 1995, pulled off what seemed like a meaningless trade for catcher Joe Girardi. The transaction proved anything but meaningless as Girardi helped guide the Yankees' talented pitching staff to a World Series Championship in 1996. Now, after a stint as a Yankees broadcaster, he's the team's manager and out to secure the Bombers' 27th World Series title.
