About the artist:

Pat Van Metter studied illustration at Pratt Institute and oil and pastel painting at the historic Woodstock School of Art. Her background also includes seven years of study at the Reilly League of Artists painting portraits from life.

Her unique style-described as romantic realism-is developed from the tradition of Sargent and Sorolla and incorporates her own contemporary point of view.
