Description
Enjoy three bottles of wine made by PHS alums. From the Class of 1964, Ridge Watson is the Winemaker/General Manager of Joullian Vineyards, located in the mountains of Carmel Valley. Watson joined Joullian in 1981 to develop award-winning wines from the "terroir to the bottle." Enjoy a 3.0-liter etched and signed bottle of 2000 Chardonnay housed in a wood display case.
The Class of 1988 yields two winemakers: Peter Figge and Kent Fortner. Founded in 2004, Figge Cellars has vineyards throughout Monterey County. The 2005 Syrah has a big nose with a blast of blackberry and boysenberry. Kent's Green Truck Cellars, re-named Road 31, produces small quantities of Pinot Noir. The 2002 Pinot Noir has a remarkable overall balance credited to the vineyard itself: cool enough to provide structure and aromatics, sunny enough to develop fullness. This wine was bottled unfined and unfiltered.
