Dominus Estate is the Napa Valley property of Bordeaux producer Christian Moueix. With a long history of winemaking in Libourne, France, Moueix studied at UC Davis and was attracted by the opportunity to make a wine that was distinctly Napa terroir with the spirit and style of a great Bordeaux.

The source for Dominus is the historic Napanook Vineyard, one of the oldest vineyards in the Napa Valley. The 1996 "displays terrific richness, medium to full body, low acidity, a succulent, opulent texture, and superb purity" (RP 95), while the 2000 is "Lush, full and fleshy, but with terrific minerally verve underneath" (ST 91 - 94).
