Stonegate Winery is a critically acclaimed producer in the Diamond Mountain AVA. Stonegate's ultra-premium portfolio focuses on Bordeaux varietals from specific blocks within its 199 acres of Napa Valley vineyards. Stonegate's team hand-harvests fruit into small, half-ton bins, then hand-sorts the fruit at the crush pad, enabling them to work with superior fruit. The 1997 is "round and ripe, with flavors of currants, brownies and plums" (WS 91) and the 1999 is ""almost black and smells youthful, with cassis and oak aromas" (WE 91).
