Description

Established in 1882, the estate is distinguished by the historic Kraft Winery Victorian home depicted on the Spottswoode label. The winery closed during Prohibition but was reborn as Spottswoode when Mary Weber Novak and her late husband, Jack, purchased the property in 1972 and produced their first vintage of Cabernet in 1982, exactly 100 years after the estate's founding. Spottswoode wine is known for its refined elegance, balance, and classic structure.

"Bright ruby-red. Lively aromas of boysenberry, cassis, bitter chocolate, violet and mint. Juicy, firm and bright for the vintage...Finishes with firm but graceful tannins." (ST 91)
