Description
The 68-acre Honig vineyard is located in Rutherford, the heart of Napa Valley. Louis Honig purchased the estate in 1964 and had planned, after a successful career in advertising, to retire there and make wine. Sadly, he died before realizing his dream. After his death, his heirs honored him by making 2,000 cases of Honig Sauvignon Blanc in 1981 and a winery was born. Michael Honig, grandson, runs the vineyard and winery.
This magnum of 2006 Honig Cabernet Sauvignon has vibrant ripe, red fruit aromas, framed by spice, vanilla and tea. The 2006 vintage has not yet been released to the public, and to date has only been available through sampling at the winery and at the Napa Valley Wine Auction.
