The story of the ten millionth baseball:
On opening day in 1957 the 10,000,000 baseball used in Major League was put into play. On that historic day all of the team members for the Baltimore Orioles and the Washington Senators gathered on the field at old Griffith Stadium to see who would catch the baseball. President Eisenhower rose from his seat and tossed the ball into this group of players which numbered more than fifty. Mr. Don Ferrarese, pitcher for the Baltimore Orioles was the player who made the record setting catch of the ten millionth baseball. Mr. Ferrarese returned the ball to the President and both men autographed it. This historic ball currently resides in the Baseball Hall of Fame in Cooperstown, New York.
