FUND- A -NEED -- BRIDGE THE GAP

The state of California is currently facing a $14 billion budget deficit. In an effort to decrease that deficit, the Governor is proposing massive budget cuts, including to public education. Our district, like many around us, is faced with the daunting prospect of significant budget cuts for the upcoming school year.

Our goal is to raise $100,000 through Fund-A-Need to support our programs and specialists and to bridge the funding gap that will be created by state cuts. In the event that we have not raised enough at year-end to fund our core programs, BCE may direct a portion of the funds to our core programs to ensure that our Music, Library and Physical Education specialists will return next year.

BCE was founded by Burlingame parents 27 years ago to fund programs cut by the state. Parents then, as now, strongly believe that all Burlingame public school students deserve a quality, well-rounded education that enriches the whole child. Tonight we aim to continue that tradition. Please raise your paddles high in support of our children and our schools!
