A broadway-worthy improvisational extravaganza, this evening will be one you'll never forget. You will laugh, you may cry, but you will be assured of a rollickin' good time. Come for the weddin' of Bubba and his Gal, Bobbie Sue -- you are the guests and will be an important part of the action too. At the reception, there'll be dancin' to the chicken dance, line dancin', square dancin' and even some polka -- we'll teach ya what ya don't know already if ya want. There will be surprise entertainment of all sorts, including an authentic Appalachian dance performance. Burlingame's own il Piccolo Players, led by Artistic Director Cathy Foxhoven, and community members/actors will get the action kicked off and moving throughout the evening. But, ya'll are welcome to put your irons in the fire too! Who knows what will happen when grandma gets her two cents in. And when that old boyfriend shows up, well, you better hope you are settin' down fer that. Even the bride might have a thing or two up her sleeve... Forget stuffy Charles 'n Camilla, fancy Eva and Tony, and odd Tom and Katie (er, Kate), this weddin' is true, honest, side-splittin' fun. The weddin' will commence at 6 p.m. on Saturday, August 23, 2008, in Foote Hall at St. Paul's Episcopal Church in Burlingame. Yummy BBQ vittles will be provided by the Burlingame Lions Club and Kathy's Kreative Kakes while stupendous service will be offered by the BCE Board and School Board members. Attire: Fellas -- overalls and flannel shirts optional; Gals -- square dancin' skirts optional. Wine and beer provided, but BYOM (moonshine, that is) and toothpicks. Gather your posse together and bid fast -- only 75 couples will be allowed into this dutch auction.
